Epoxy coatings and many overlays cut off concrete’s ability to breathe. This leaves a potential for premature coating failure, or worse, degradation of the concrete. Underlying moisture issues (which are not uncommon) increase the risk of this occurring.
Polished Guard services have been casually refered to as “grind and seal.” That is an oversimplification of our process. A quality grind is the basis for any good result, whether a guard or polished concrete. Premium abrasives are required for optimal preperation. With our process, the concrete looks good even before the guard is applied.
